A bit more about your humble narrator

I’m an artist by trade as well as a full-time web and interaction designer. I’ve been working the web professionally for ten full years now, and have been building sites for myself since Mosaic was in beta and day-glo colors were all the rage. One dotcom bubble and a BFA degree later and I’m steadily employed as the webmaster for the University of Texas School of Law, a very nice place to be.

In between working for the university and freelancing, I continue to explore drawing and photography as part of a studio practice. I also squeeze in time to keep up on the latest research in diverse fields, as I’m passionately interested in:

My biggest influences to date have been Shakespeare, James Joyce, Jim Henson, They Might Be Giants, Tom Lehrer, Akira Kurasawa, Edward Tufte, Anselm Kiefer, and Joseph Beuys, in no particular order.

About this site

This current incarnation of my site, probably the fifth or sixth since 1994, is a balance of blog and portfolio and gives me a direct outlet for my ramblings. I usually work with LAMP technology, and this site is no exception. The blog is powered by Wordpress with a handful of plugins, including some that have been modified and hacked a bit. I’ve striven to keep everything in this self-made theme clean and accessible, and to maintain valid XHTML Strict code throughout.
